Kim Kardashian Says She’d Never Watched SNL Before Hosting It

Since its Premiere in October 1975, Saturday Night Live has been one of the most-watched sketch Comedy shows ever. That’s why it was shocking when Kim Kardashian Revealed during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that, before hosting SNLshe hadn’t really watched the show.

The surprising fun fact came to light after Tonight Show Host Jimmy Fallon congratulated Kardashian on a job well done hosting SNL. (She helmed an Episode back in October 2021.)

“You were Fantastic, it was a great Episode,” said Fallon. “Were you nervous going in?”

Kardashian then revealed, “I was nervous for a second. I have to be honest because I had never seen SNL before. I had gone to one taping of Eddie Murphy — and I had gone backstage. “

Of course, Kardashian assured Fallon she was well aware of the show’s far reach and impact.

“I knew what it was. I knew it was so iconic,” she said. “But I had never… I gotta be honest, I had no idea you were on.” (She also didn’t know Will Ferrell was a former SNL cast member!)

Since hosting, though, Kardashian says, “I’ve been schooled, I know everyone that’s been on now. I know everything.”

In a recent interview on Watch What Happens Live, SNL cast member Bowen Yang talked about the Kim Kardashian SNL sketch that was unjustly cut called “Costco Meeting.” In the sketch, Sarah Sherman played a Costco intern tasked with developing a marketing strategy to target teen shoppers. And in the world of SNLthe only way to do this is to partner with an up-and-coming pop group called Glitter Revolution (played by Kim Kardashian, Aidy Bryant, and Yang).

“I do think it was unjustly cut … because it was cut for time,” Yang said. “They just buried it in the end of the show, and I was like, ‘OK, it’s going to get cut. We’re 10 minutes over.’ You just know going in. ”

He added, “It’s fine, but then it got a — it had a life of its own. And then it was Kris Jenner’s favorite sketch, it was Khloé’s [Kardashian] favorite sketch. “
