In this video, Anu Lala, MD, associate professor of medicine (cardiology) at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, discusses new HF developments stemming from the American College of Cardiology Scientific Session.

Lala highlighted updated guidelines for HF, with particular emphasis on how “language matters” in diagnosing HF, with the addition of the term “mildly reduced ejection fraction” for patients with an ejection fraction of 41% to 49%.

Lala also discussed how SGLT2 inhibitors can now be applied to patients with HF across the ejection fraction scale.
